"Together across the finish-line with an enduring partnership" was the theme of the running event ChemCon GmbH invited staff, customers and cooperation partners to as part of the Freiburg marathon. Dr. Raphael Vogler, CEO and long-distance runner motivated "Team ChemCon" with a challenge: "Anyone who beats me on the half marathon route will receive a special surprise!"
In bright sunshine, the 15th marathon in Freiburg opened the running season of the big city marathons on Sunday, April 8. Eleven runners challenged "the boss" on the half marathon route. Two runners participated in the AOK health run (10km). Colleagues cheered on the team along the route.
After one hour, 13 minutes and 14 seconds Mr. Adami, Neuroloop GmbH, crossed the finish line as the first "Team ChemCon" member. Not only was he 20 minutes "faster than the boss", he also became forth of the Freiburg half marathon. Dr. Vogler crossed the finish line after one hour, 33 minutes and 48 seconds. We congratulate Mr. Adami on his fourth place and the winning of our challenge.
Despite temparatures above 20°C, all runners of "Team ChemCon" reached the finish line in good time. "Team ChemCon" finished 12th out of 295 teams. We sincerely thank all the runners for their participation and colleagues for their support along the route.
The 15th marathon in Freiburg was organized by the Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe (FWTM) and the Badischen Leichtathletik-Verband (BLV). More than 40 live bands played along the route and in the start-finish area ensured a great atmosphere. The next Freiburg marathon will take place on April 7, 2019. "Team ChemCon" is planning to be part of the event again.
